(23.05.10) SWRFC SECURE SPONSORSHIP DEAL
With the club preparing to celebrate their 50th Anniversary this coming season, Sherburn White Rose F.C are delighted to announce their recent partnership with logistical and distribution giant Wincanton plc. To support the football club through its celebratory year Wincanton have generously sponsored the senior section to the tune of £1000.  The company have used the club’s Astroturf and playing facilities over the last year to prepare for their participation in the annual Sainsbury’s Cup competition and a large attendance watched the Wincanton Sherburn side beat Lancashire based Sainsbury’s Haydock on May 17th at Finkle Hill. Wincanton Sherburn now progress to the semi-finals of the competition and thanked SWRFC for their support with a cheque presented to club President Gary Limbert by Wincanton General Manager Lynne Watson. A number of SWRFC players currently work at Sherburn-In-Elmet’s Wincanton for Sainbsury’s depot and represented the club during the match; regular first teamer Danny Graham and U18 player Tom Nesbitt on the winning side.

(22.05.10) WEEKEND ROUND UP
With second spot already secure, an exhausted first team hosted Leeds City today with captain Alex Booth missing, along with Dave Haley, Brad Jordan, Danny Graham and Jamie Middleton. Leeds opened the scoring with an unmarked header, before Adam Priestley equalised after the away keeper dropped a catch under Priestley's challenge. Sherburn then mounted more pressure on Leeds but an injury to Adam Sadler at centre half changed the dynamic of the game and SWRFC gifted some tired mistakes to give Leeds City a deserved win.
(19.05.10) MIDWEEK ROUNDUP
The first team hosted Ripon City in the penultimate game of the season tonight with the runners-up spot in the West Yorkshire Premier League nearly in reach. It was the away side who took the lead however in the first half, but Sherburn came back to win 2-1 with two goals in the space of five minutes just after half time. Adam Priestley headed home Danny Graham's cross before Adam Sadler twisted and turned on the edge of the box before neatly finishing with his left foot. Ripon hit the crossbar with minutes remaining but Sherburn held on to move second in the league with Knaresborough Town losing elsewhere.
(15.05.10) WEEKEND POSTPONEMENT
The first team's game at home to Field Sports was cancelled due to the opposition unable to get a team.
(12.05.10) MIDWEEK ROUND UP
The first team soundly beat Whitkirk Wanderers 4-1 today, a scoreline that flattered the home side as Sherburn notched up dozens of clear-cut chances to score. Goals were scored by Potter, Beaston, Booth and Jollands. Earlier in the week the reserves ended their season with a 4-3 win over Rothwell Athletic reserves, Withington, Beaston, Lancashire and Kelsey all hitting the net.
(08.05.10) WEEKEND ROUND UP
The first team moved second in the league after a comfortable win over relegated Ossett Common Rovers today. Jamie Potter and Alex Booth scored the goals; Potter netting a fantastic strike whilst Booth tapped in Priestley's long range effort that struck the post. A depleted reserve team felt the full brunt of Beeston St Anthony's disappointment at losing the League Cup Final with a 8-1 defeat away, James Lancashire scoring the only goal for Sherburn.
(06.05.10) SWRFC IN SEVENTH HEAVEN
SWRFC's young side made more history today by being the first  Sherburn side to ever retain the West Yorkshire League Cup after beating Beeston St Anthony's 1-0 at Wakefield FC tonight. The cup has not been retained in consecutive seasons by any club since 1983 and now means SWRFC have won seven consecutive cup finals in just over twelve months and remarkably the club have retained every single trophy they obtained last season.

Jamie Middleton's first half header from Scott Williams' corner secured the win in a very close and hard fought victory. The West Yorkshire League nominated MOM went to SWRFC captain Alex Booth, but was run close by Rob Foreman and Dave Haley whose stout defending helped earn Sherburn this prestigious accolade. Many thanks to all those who travelled to support the lads.

The League Cup Winning Squad: S.Hudson, A.Sadler, R.Foreman, D.Haley, D.Graham, S.Williams, J.Jollands, A.Booth, N.Dixon, A.Priestley, J.Middleton, B.Jordan, D.Carter, J.Potter
(03.05.10) SWRFC MAKE DISTRICT FA HISTORY
SWRFC today became the first ever team in the history of the Barkston Ash District FA to retain both senior cups in the same season with the reserves soundly beating Kippax FC reserves 2-1 in the Activ8 Cup Final. Sherburn missed a whole host of chances to score, notably Lancashire and Potter missing the target after being played through one on one, but a goal either side of half time, first from James Lancashire and then James Beaston secured the trophy's spot within the club cabinet.

The coaching staff were quick to praise the squad on a successful cup campaign after a poor start to the season. Last month the first team beat Aberford Albion in the District FA Challenge Cup Final, meaning SWRFC have retained two of the three cups won last season, with the first team to play in the League Cup Final this Thursday.

The Activ8 Cup Winning Squad from left to right: D.Fenton (coach), B.Bradley, J.Potter, D.Withington, S.Liddle, M.Cochran, R.Hudson (captain), B.Webster, L.Kelsey, B.Jordan, C.Parnaby, G.Limbert (manager), K.Meaney, C.Limbert, J.Beaston, J.Jackson, J.Lancashire
(29.04.10) MESSAGE OF CONGRATULATIONS
Ex SWRFC player Julian Vollans wishes the club all the best with their upcoming League Cup Final with an email from overseas. Julian added it was great to see so many friends and ex team-mates succeeding at the club. Julian was part of the squad that gained successive promotions from Division 2 to the Premier Division of the West Yorkshire league.
(25.04.10) MORE JUNIOR SUCCESS
Hot on the heels of the U16 girls winning the league title, the U14 boys today sealed promotion to the Premier Division of the Charles Rice League following a 4-2 win over Pontefract Sports. Richard Collins and his U14s have now earned back-to-back promotions in two seasons and are currently in the quarter finals of the Charles Rice League Cup.
(22.04.10) FIRST TEAM REACH LEAGUE CUP FINAL
The first team beat Pool FC to reach the West Yorkshire League Cup Final last night. After going a goal down from a Carter OG, a second half free-kick from Adam Priestley was rifled into the bottom corner to make the scores level. Williams had a free header at the back post to win the game but hit straight at the keeper, and excellent combination play between Jordan and Sadler saw a Sherburn cross headed goalward by a Pool defender only to be tipped onto the post. In the dying minutes Rob Foreman's goal-bound header was cleared off the line from Sadler's corner.

In extra-time Sherburn showed their quality in what was an overall poor performance, with Adam Priestley scoring from the spot after being brought down in the box, then Jordan capped his excellent impact with a goal before Alex Booth was given a tap in following good work from Williams and Priestley. Priestley had the opportunity to score his second successive hat-trick after being played through by Jordan, but the keeper saved well from close range. SWRFC will play the winners of tonight's other Semi-Final between Ripon and Beeston St Anthony's in two weeks time.
(05.04.10) WHITE ROSE YOUNGSTERS BLOSSOM AGAIN
SWRFC retained the Barkston Ash F.A Challenge Cup today following a 3-2 victory over local rivals Aberford Albion. Sherburn twice went ahead thanks to a neat finish from Lenny Mason and a second half penalty by Adam Priestley. Priestley should have scored again, but after being fouled on the outside of the box, he picked himself up to beat the keeper and score before the referee pulled play back and gave Sherburn a free-kick instead. Aberford equalised moments later from a penalty of their own but captain Alex Booth scored with seconds remaining from a corner to give Sherburn their second consecutive cup final victory over Aberford.
