Any match reports or team information is greatly welcomed and will be uploaded to the appropriate page once received. The junior pages are currently up-to-date with all submissions (01/03/10), so if you can't find a match report or there is little (or no) information regarding your team's progress this season then please send to admin@sherburnwrfc.com or contact your team manager.
14th Mar	SWRFC U14s 4 - 2 Dorothy Hyman U14s Sherburn bounced back from two consecutive league defeats today to move second in the league table by soundly beating Dorothy Hyman. Earlier in the season Dorothy Hyman thrashed Sherburn but the U14s seemed to regain their early season form by dominating at home. Sherburn were the stronger team throughout the game and started brightly, Ty Clarke having a close range shot saved before Jonny Carr shot over. Liam Bolton had an effort saved before Sherburn allowed a goal against the run of play when a Hyman forward thundered a free-kick into the net from outside the box. Sherburn immediately hit back when some neat play in the middle released Clarke with a through ball to equalise. Sherburn came close to taking the lead when Clarke squared a ball for Bolton to hit wide before a replica move saw Bolton hit the post. Despite the dominance it was the away side that took the lead when a blind Sherburn pass was played into the path of a forward who's first effort on goal was saved by Harrison, only for the rebound to be hit into the net. The U14s were playing with confidence however and Liam Bolton finally equalised before half time when Jack Thomas played in Clarke who crossed for Bolton to head home. Sherburn came out in the second half and never allowed Hyman to play, Clarke scored twice to end a great performance, but Bolton, Thomas, Carr and Kurt Hardcastle all had excellent chances to extend the lead. With minutes remaining Dom Ballance started and ended a great move which saw his header at the back post go narrowly wide. After recent disappointments the boys showed tremendous character to outplay Dorothy Hyman, with notable praise going to Clarke, Carr and Bolton who dominated the middle, whilst substitute Ballance had an incredible impact on the left. MOM went to Kurt Hardcastle who was a rock at the back and never allowed the away side to build momentum.
13th Mar	SWRFC U16 Girls 1 - 0 Tadcaster U16 Girls Tadcaster made Sherburn work hard for their win in an entertaining, well-balanced contest. Rosie Bradley saw her long-range dipping effort fly just over the crossbar and strikers Amy Lawrence and Lizzie Hare went close on several occasions but were continually thwarted by an outstanding Tadcaster keeper. Rhiannon Spencer and Lucy Beilby defended strongly to deny the visitors any real scoring opportunities and the teams went in level at half-time. Sherburn pushed forward immediately in the second half leaving Katie Sadler little to do in the home goal but Tadcaster continued to frustrate the Rose girls and it looked like they would have to settle for a draw. Player of the match Hayley Lewis had other ideas, however, and beat 3 players to coolly slot the ball home and make it 1-0 to Sherburn. Hannah Davis came close to adding a second in the closing minutes but in the end the home side were happy to take the points from their closest rivals.
20th Feb	JUNIOR GOALKEEPER SESSIONS U12s, U14s and U18s coach Richard Collins is currently holding Goalkeeper sessions for juniors on a Monday night at the football club 6pm - 7pm.
