West Yorkshire Premier League Leeds City 2 - 0 First Team
This was a fixture in which Sherburn were unable to get all their players there on time for kick off having to ask people to travel usually on a weekend which takes up to 45 minutes but in rushhour traffic the journey for some was up to nearly two hours.
Sherburn had to start the game with the eleven that made it 15 minutes before kick off and only having a 5 minute warm up - the opposition had the comfort of a squad of 16 and a 30 minute warm up and team meeting to allow better preperation for the game. Sherburn yet again used players who have played regularly for the second team giving them much needed experience to benefit them for the Activ8 district cup final on Monday 4th may at Tadcaster Albion 3pm kick off. (please come and offer your support).
Sherburn for the second season running have now passed the impressive landmark of 30 different players representing the first team with distinction.
Even in defeat in this match against a good and decent club who are still in the title mix and we wish them all the best in their quest manager Nick Peacock could only praise the Sherburn players "I thought the players that played tonight were a credit to themselves and the club, the experience gained for these players can only help them and the club in the future"
