West Yorkshire Premier League                                                              First Team 3 - 1 Carlton Athletic

Two late goals ended a brave fight by Carlton Athletic to give the first team their first points of the season. Scott Williams' first half goal was cancelled out by a second half penalty when the referee judged a push on a Carlton forward at a set piece. Sherburn looked unable to use their man advantage when a Carlton midfielder was sent off for striking Williams, but the introduction of Chris Thompson on the wing seemed to revitalise Sherburn and within minutes he set up Lenny Mason to net his first league goal of the season (later booked for his celebration). Moments later Mason was set up again by Thompson but blasted his effort over the bar from only a few yards out. Adam Priestley ended Carlton's resistance, sliding his shot beneath the keeper with only a few minutes remaining.

West Yorkshire Alliance Division 1                                                    Bardsey 3 - 2 Reserves

Despite leading for most of the match against a physical Bardsey team after Chris Thompson's goal, Sherburn were unable to hold on to their lead and two quick second half goals handed the advantage back to the home side. This seemed to spur the reserves back into life, and when Collins' header was blocked on the line from Tattersall's corner, Hudson's chip back into the box found Thompson for his third goal of the season. With minutes to go Bardsey stole a winner when their centre forward was played through on goal to finish neatly. The reserves now travel to Robin Hood Athletic, to try and pick up their first points of the season.
