West Yorkshire Premier League                                                              First Team 1 - 1 Knaresborough Town

Sherburn claimed a credable point against league title contenders Knaresborough Town in this home game without numerous regular first team players. In fact, the first team selection was greatly by many players who made themselves unavailable for the 2nd or the 3rd team on the day, all of which had a major knock on effect throughout the club.

Players at this club are reminded we need you to make yourselves available as much as possible from now to the end of the season.

Sherburn began the game very well and on their very first attack scored the opener after superb play from the excellent Williams who played in Middleton to score with a fantastic finish. White Rose set up and played a way which best suited the personnel available and obviously took the away side by surprise who expected to play a team playing a totally different way.

This is credit to the players who are now well equipped to play different systems and styles required at times designed to frustrate the opposition. This is what happened in the first half and Knaresborough were unable to break Sherburn down.

Knaresborough were able to score early in the second half after the linesman awarded them their goal after a set play which he decided had crossed the line. Sherburn reacted to this by changing their system and Bradley and Middleton were unlucky not to score from chances created well from Williams and Gemmell.

The game opened up towards the end of the half and chances were had by both but neither team could convert.

Pleasing for Sherburn was that Manager Nick Peacock did not worry about the result and yet again used all the 14 players available to him on the day.

West Yorkshire Alliance Division 1                                                  Reserves 1 - 2 Field FC

A depleted reserve side came away from today's game at Field desperately disappointed not to have won the game. With key players missing through injury and holiday absence, Sherburn's starting eleven looked remarkably haphazard, with striker Turton at right back, goalkeeper Quirk at left back and James Lancashire getting his first start in the middle of the park. Coach Darren Fenton was Sherburn's only substitute.

The first half saw Field's young side throw everything at Sherburn, but only created a handful of half-chances, most of which came from indecision on Sherburn's part and a distinct lack of communication. Beaston and Lancashire both came close at the other end of the pitch but the scores were level at half time.

Field scored early in the second half even though Sherburn came out a much better side. Lancashire lost possession in Sherburn's half and the shot that followed found its way through Bradley.

Sherburn rallied though and created numerous chances from long balls that Field's young back four failed to deal with. Richard Collins finally scored an equaliser, bending Beaston's low cross around the Field full back and keeper. Sherburn then looked for a winner, Lancashire again coming close from long range and Collins might have scored a second from Turton's free kick.

With minutes to go and Sherburn pressing, Meaney was dragged down and the counter attack that followed found a Field striker who drove the ball first time past Collins and Bradley. Field were already celebrating the victory, but with only a few seconds remaining Beaston's corner was attacked by Parnaby who smashed his effort against the post, the rebound fell to Lancashire who headed against the bar.

The reserves now have two weeks to rest and prepare for the District Cup Semi Final against Wetherby Athletic.
